Our camp runs from June 19th through August 18th. Enrollment is on a prepaid, weekly basis. A half-day camp option is available for 3-year old campers only. All full-day campers ages 4 and up participate in the camp's core activities with swimming and tennis lessons organized by age and ability. The Longfellow Club has perhaps with most dynamic year-round junior tennis program in New England and campers really enjoy being taught by such high-quality tennis professionals. Our camper to counselor ratios (4:1 for 3 year olds;5:1 for 4-6 year olds; 8:1 for 7-12 year olds) allows for lots of individualized attention. Registering for camp is now easier than ever! Just print out the appropriate form, fill in the requested information, including all required signatures, and mail in or drop off with your check.

 

The Longfellow Children's Center

Campers enjoy spending time at our fabulous facility. Kids rule as they play in the coolest treehouse ever built indoors and the Amazing Maze climbing structure. The Longfellow Children's Center is adjacent to The Longfellow Club, just a few steps away. Camp dropoff and pickup at this great facility provides for a hassle-free and smooth transition for kids and parents. The Longfellow Children's Center now boasts a new outdoor play area including the Jupiter climbing structure and separate preschool play space.


3 Year Olds

We've designed a camp-within-a-camp for the little guys. The focus is on fun through socialization with "down time" built right into the schedule. 3 year old campers can choose between a 9am-1pm or a 9am-3pm schedule. Lunch is included. Activities include:

  • Experiential art
  • wimming lessons
  • Circle/story time
  • Music and games
  • utdoor fun

4 & 5 Year Olds

This age group is more able to tackle a full day than the 3-year olds and the camp activities reflect this ability. Activities include:

  • Introduction to sports with a qualified fitness instructor
  • Age-appropriate, themed art projects emphasizing creativity
  • Daily outdoor activities including games, relay races and water balloon and sprinkler fun
  • Storytelling and face painting

6-8 Year Olds

Lots of varied activities are offered to this age group, with a focus on individual choice. Sports Director, Teresa Newton-Moineau presents a sports and fitness-oriented program. Features include:

  • Sports conditioning
  • Floor hockey, volleyball, basketball, and soccer
  • Dance and fitness classes
  • Intricate art projects
  • Nutrition and Cooking classes
  • Board games
  • Free swim and organized pool "Olympics"
  • Face painting and dramatic play

9-12 Year Olds

Lots of varied activities are offered to this age group, with a focus on individual choice. Sports Director, Teresa Newton-Moineau presents a sports and fitness-oriented program. Features include:

Meet Our Staff

Karen Mahoney - Camp Director
Karen has been the Director of Camp Longfellow for the past five years. In addition to running the
summer camp, Karen is very busy all year as director of The Longfellow Children's Center

Tina Wright, Aquatics
Tina is the Aquatics Director at The Longfellow Club. She has taught all ages and levels of swimming
in her eleven years at the club. She also coaches our summer swim team. Tina brings lots of enthusiasm
and creativity to Camp Longfellow's pool activities.

Kim Reid, Tennis
Kim is a full-time USPTA tennis professional at The Longfellow Club. She has been teaching tennis to
children of all ages since 1992. As a tennis player and teacher, Kim has been a part of the Longfellow
family since 1980.

Teresa Newton-Moineau, Fitness
Teresa is Director of Aerobics at The Longfellow Club and has twenty years of experience in the fitness
field. Teresa has created several successful fitness programs for kids and has worked as an athletic
trainer for both high school and college athletic teams.

All Camp Longfellow staff have experience working with children and are trained in CPR and basic first
aid.
